Steve also explains his name: He was born Stephen James Liller in 1965 in Ohio, Liller being his mother’s maiden name. Steve later adopted his father’s name and made Liller his middle name because, whatever cameras sins his father was guilty of, he just felt it was more appropriate to use his father’s name just like most people do. The documentary crew (camera pictured) cameras following Steve on the FatMan Trail is beginning to cameras spend more time with him. In the beginning they only showed up every couple of weeks, because they had to go raise money the rest of the time. Steve feels that they missed some of the great moments of his walk, and he is urging them to be near him continuously now. Steve has been spending more time in the cities he reaches partly so that the documentary crew can film him in his encounters with ordinary people.
