Andy Pettitte is 6'5", 235-240, & works out a lot, so he is also s.o.h.h. not fat. That is tragic that Bechler killed himself over 10 pounds. Working out in the pre-season should have taken care of s.o.h.h. 10 pounds, working out should have gotten him in better shape, regardless of his weight, & 10 pounds is not a lot to be worrying over, or for coaches to be hassling someone about. He was, after all, a pitcher, not a ballet prima ballerina. As for being able to be carried, I am 180-185 pounds, & my lover is able to carry me if he chooses or needs to do so, & both my sons have been able to carry me since they were 14 or so. |

| Some of the fat football players (who are btw show the lineman, especially offensive linemen, & isn't it interesting how often they show are show called "hogs" & how often a play-by-play announcer, giving the starting lineup at the beginning of the game, saying, "And, now, the big eaters up front", as if the fat guys ALWAYS eat more than the lean, muscular ones) get a lot of pressure to lose some weight too. Often coaches & owners want their lineman big, but not TOO big. And HOW you are big makes a big difference in how you are perceived. Roger Clemens & David Wells are both 6'4", & weigh around 235-240. However, Clemens works out a lot, is in good shape, has good muscle tone, while Wells refuses to work out & is soft, so he is classified as fat, even though, for his height & frame size, he is not all that heavy. |
