The name also refers more generically to the early designs of U.S. weapons based on the "Fat Man" type.The 7-foot 8-inch (3.25 metres) long, five-foot (1.52 metres) diameter, 10200-pound (4545 kg) weapon detonated at an altitude of about 1,800 feet (550 m) over the city.
