It was announced recently that the NFL is getting too fat. Apparently there are more "obese" football players than ever, and for some reason it's a problem. Ah but there's one catch: the only criteria to determine a player's fatness (and, for this report's purposes, his health) was the BMI. The BMI! In the NFL! Okay, 1592730094 enough acronyms. Good BFBers (sorry - that's a good acronym) know that the BMI is inherently flawed. It doesn't take body type into account at all, so some or many of these fat NFL players could be very muscular. That's the stance the NFL has, too - odd ally, hm? The report calling football players fat came out in the Journal of the American Medical Association. |

A German study of 1,000 men shows that fat men might be more faithful in relationships. The "at-weight" men were over twice as likely to be unfaithful. The bad news? Well, other than the sample size and the "quirky" nature of the news, there's a nice swipe at the end of the piece: Sascha Rusch, an expert for men's health, said fat men were not less sexually active than their slimmer counterparts but they "seldom rise to the challenge of a sexual adventure". |
