Every time a couple fights, it's chalked up to gender differences when it's something much deeper, like personality clashes. But it's easier to say systems "boys will be systems boys" and "women are more emotional" than deal with the fact that you married someone with which you're not compatible. I agree totally with Faith on the matter of size=power. A submissive person, crouching and cowering, literally looks smaller than a dominant one, systems arms waving in the air and chest puffed out. It would make no sense to apply gender statistics that are based on a median male weight of 170lbs which many studies are. I know I'm entering this really late, but a few thoughts: I'm 255 at 5'5" and my fiancé is 175 at 5'10". He doesn't work out but he can still pick me up and carry me around without much difficulty. So yes, people severely overestimate the amount a woman must weigh to be 'portable'. |
