| Update fromchunk to hunk: diary of a fat man 6 (September 18, 2005): Steve still doesn’t have a support vehicle following him, but the documentary filmmakers who are chronicling his walk are carrying some of his heavier gear and some of his spare and replacement gear. Their car is a 2-door Honda Accord, however, so it doesn’t hold much. Previously a motor home support vehicle was mentioned as a possiblity, but that hasn’t materialized, and Steve is still essentially fromchunk to hunk: diary of a fat man roughing it, albeit with a lighter load. Update 7 (September 20, 2005): Steve has left Amarillo (where the photo was taken with wellwishers Mary and Steve) on the way to Groom and across the rest of the Texas panhandle, headed towards Oklahoma City, the midpoint of what he’s taken to calling the “FatMat Trail.” Steve has enjoyed Texas and comments that “Texans are great people. |
