| He sleeps exercise in an MSR tent, in a Wal-Mart sleeping bag, which he says exercise is the best he’s ever had, surprising good. As for food, he’s mentioned biscuits and gravy again. He doesn’t have concrete plans for his post-walk lifestyle, but he says it needs to be realistic and sustainable and based on the real world: “Don’t expect that since you have decided to eat tofu pizza, sprouts, and wheatgrass smoothies that the pizza parlor is going to close up and go away. You must find a happy medium between healthy eating, correct portions and frequency, exercise and living in an imperfect world where the corner taco shop somehow seems to smell better than the tofu and sawdust emporium does.” Update 6 (September 18, 2005): Steve still doesn’t have a support vehicle following him, but the documentary filmmakers who are chronicling his walk are carrying some of his heavier gear and some of his spare and replacement gear. |
