Institutions, donors and media workers have wrapped Zimbabwe’s opposition party in cotton wool for the last six years. Sure the MDC has had a tough job on their hands challenging an entrenched dictatorship on a decidedly uneven political playing field but these reasons should not have been used as excuses for ineffectual political engagement.
